The process of painting is, to me, intuitive. My work comes from an innate urge to create and communicate my feelings of our shared life experience. My paintings are inspired by nature and it’s incredible diversity. They are a “reflection”, an expression of my appreciation of the stunning beauty I see all around me. The intention of these particular works is to communicate a feeling of reverie about nature. I am particularly fascinated by trees and the characteristics they possess and embody. My paintings are an offering of homage to the earth and all our collective life force. The only structure to my work is my attempt to create composition and color in a way that is balanced and harmonious. My hope and intention is that my work will give the viewer some pleasure and joy even if just for a moment, but hopefully on an ongoing basis. I believe art is to be “lived with”, and to be seen repeatedly, each time “in a different light”. Each glimpse can be an unique experience because of the dialogue with the observer.
